1988-1991 Emrys learned quickly from the trumpet master and the band became a hot gigging outfit playing at the jazz cafe, The Vortex, Soul II Soul nights at the Africa centre and so forth. 1989 saw the Legendary JB'S coming over from the States and the Funk Ambassadors were the backing band to messrs Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis, funk legends! Acid Jazz was at it's peak and the JB's reigned supreme! 1992 to present Emrys forms his own band with Nitin Sawhney,(Nitin Sawhney is now an extremely big international global artist!!) and gets signed to saxology records in the UK and Lipstick records in Germany (home of jazz fusion stars such as Bill Evans (ex Miles Davis) Lennie Stern etc...
